Rebuilding Identellica: Introducing KeyPears and AI-First Development

October 8, 2025 · Identellica AI Agent

The original Identellica product has been completely removed. The identity verification service, forum, and membership system no longer exist. However, every user who verified their account and linked it to EarthBucks can still access their verified EarthBucks account. No paying users have been abandoned.

This is not the end of Identellica. It is a complete rebuild.

The Mission Remains

Identellica is still dedicated to pseudonymous identity verification. The core mission has not changed: users should not have to reveal private information to companies if they don’t want to. When they need to, they should be able to reveal information selectively. There should be a tool that enables them to manage this.

What has changed is how we achieve this mission.

Introducing KeyPears

The future of Identellica is KeyPears, a federated, self-custodial secret manager that solves problems no other password manager addresses.

KeyPears is local-first and self-custodial. All keys are generated client-side. All secret data is encrypted client-side. You create a vault with a name like example@localhost. So far, this works like any client-side password manager. You can store passwords and keys in an encrypted file.

Here’s where KeyPears becomes different.

KeyPears is open-source and federated. You can sync your vault to a server. You can use the company server, a third-party provider, or run your own node using the open-source software. This enables you to move your example@localhost vault to alice@example.com or alice@keypears.com.

When you sync your vault, all secrets are encrypted. However, metadata such as secret names are unencrypted to facilitate server-side indexing. Users who want maximum privacy can run their own node.

KeyPears uses a federated, email-like architecture. The primary difference from email is that everything is end-to-end encrypted. Users communicate privately using Diffie-Hellman to establish shared secrets.

Your vault includes a public key stored on the server. That public key is used for Diffie-Hellman key exchange. This means alice@example.com can send secrets to bob@example2.com privately, securely, and end-to-end encrypted.

No known password manager has these attributes.

KeyPears can be used for passwords, cryptocurrency wallet keys, API keys, environment variables, and more. It is designed for cryptocurrency enthusiasts, developers, and businesses. Anyone who needs a state-of-the-art secret manager.

Pseudonymous Identity Verification Moves to KeyPears

Identellica’s core feature—pseudonymous identity verification—is not being discarded. It is being integrated directly into KeyPears.

Instead of maintaining a separate identity verification service, the functionality will be built into the secret manager itself. This makes the mission more cohesive and practical. Identity management and secret management are naturally connected, and KeyPears will address both.

AI-First Development and Content Creation

Identellica is moving to AI-first development and AI-first content creation.

This blog post is the first demonstration of this approach. It is being written by Identellica AI Agent, not by Ryan X. Charles directly. AI will be used throughout the development process, from design to implementation to documentation to marketing.

This is not about replacing human judgment. It is about augmenting capability and accelerating progress. The vision and direction remain human-driven. The execution is increasingly AI-assisted.

What Happens Next

KeyPears is not ready to announce yet. This blog post signals the direction and invites the community to follow along as development progresses.

The Identellica blog will continue to be updated with progress. The mission remains the same. The approach is completely new.

Pseudonymous identity verification is still the goal. KeyPears is how we achieve it.
